Jackson Hewitt is looking for a high performing Sales Manager who will be responsible for standing up an inbound sales function.  This individual would help design the structure of the sales center, help us build a team, and initially, help us close inbound sales calls while we continue to scale. Location is flexible (though we have offices in Sarasota, FL and NJ).
 

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Hiring and training the first sales associate

  • Providing input on technology and infrastructure needs (including recommendations on data analytics)

  • Helping design a compensation structure for the sales team

  • Overseeing (and initially contributing) to the closure of inbound sales from clients looking for help with tax debt issues (that is, s/he will initially need to be an individual contributor and selling)

  • Set targets, performance plans, and rigorous, objective standards for sales reps

  • Provide coaching and ongoing development for sales team members (weekly touchpoints and more formal semi-annual reviews)

  • Hire additional sales team members when current members reach capacity

  • Counsel, remediate, and if necessary, release underperforming reps

  • Determine and assign sales quotas, targets, and/or goals – including annual and quarterly forecasts by geography

  • Track sales team metrics and share with company leadership

  • Analyze sales data and develop plans to address gaps and expand wins

  • Monitor competitors, economic indicators, and industry trends

 Education/Experience:

  • 3+ years as a sales rep, 4+ years as a sales manager

  • Excellent organizational, written, and communication skills

  • Experience managing a team of 3+ people

  • Proficient and comfortable with computers and new software

  • Comfort utilizing a CRM to manage team sales, pipeline, closing, etc.
