Job Description



The Manager, Social Media & Public Relations will leverage social media to express Jackson Hewitt's brand effectively and engage consumers to promote and inspire confidence in our Company's products and services. They will create, coordinate and propel our social media marketing to new heights. Research target audiences, schedule posts and update news feeds as needed. Analyze new social media platforms for future growth opportunities. Provide support for publishing across additional earned media channels as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide digital thought leadership and unique strategies for all Jackson Hewitt's social platforms and communities including: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Youtube, internal and external blogs, etc.
• Develop unique content for Jackson Hewitt's social media platform this includes daily posts, copy, photos and video. Leverage assets that are readily available. Identify opportunities, tools and trends in the social space and recommend the best course of action with justifiable metrics.
• Develop and foster relationships with key bloggers and other influencers.
• Drive social media competency across the business.
• Work closely with the Senior Director, Public Relations and Communications in activating the marketing mix by developing social media plans and promotions.
• Assist in the development of channel strategies and execute.
• Develop, execute and leverage mobile and social media efforts to grow market share and expand brand awareness.
• Create mobile and social media campaign strategy including program outlines and provide recommendations.
• Understand current trends, technologies and advancements in social, mobile, and online review sites.
• Maintain consistent system of measurement and evaluation of social and mobile program success.
• Extend marketing initiatives and editorial content into relevant external publications (forums, new sites, blogs, etc).
• Ensure alignment between digital and traditional media communications.
• Work closely with internal departments to help resolve customer service issues as needed.
• Works with third parties including agencies and vendors.
• Works on special brand initiatives as requested by the Senior Director, Public Relations and Communications.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
• At least 3 years direct marketing, advertising and brand marketing experience including implementation of digital, mobile and emerging campaigns.
• Have demonstrated knowledge of mobile, emerging and social media, and application to advertising campaigns.
• Unmatched attention to detail in creating content, executing posts across scheduling platforms, across scheduling platforms of CMS
• Understand social media universe including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, Snapchat, blogs, etc.
• Ability to adapt to the style, tonality and vernacular of the current “voice” of employee and consumer facing Facebook and other social mediums.
• Ability to assist in the planning, development, and implementation of projects/programs.
• Work well under pressure of deadlines.
• Technology savvy with solid understanding of the web, online marketing, direct marketing and best social media practices.
• Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Drive, energy, and passion to work with category-leading brands.
• Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
